This challenge is meant to support and extend your classroom learning during the 5th Grade Addition & Subtraction of Fractions math unit, and it supports the following learning targets:
- I can explain why fractions with unlike denominators cannot be added or subtracted. (5.NF.A.1.T1)
- I can use equivalent fractions to find common denominators. (5.NF.A.1.T2)
- I can use multiple strategies to create equivalent fractions to add or subtract fractions. (5.NF.A.1.T3)
- I can use multiple strategies to create equivalent fractions to add or subtract mixed numbers. (5.NF.A.1.T4)
- I can use multiple strategies to solve addition and subtraction word problems involving fractions. (5.NF.A.2.T1)
